Ghana’s Ambassador to South Korea, Kojo Choi has held progressive talks with Mr. Charles Choi, President of Friends of Hope (KFHI).
According to the Ambassador, discussions focused on health care of Bongo, ”a place very close to my heart in Ghana”, Kojo Choi articulated.
For over a decade, Friends of Hope has been faithfully serving communities in Ghana,
– supporting education and entrepreneurship in Bolgatanga,
– advancing water resource development and climate resilience in Tamale,
– and empowering women in Bongo through vocational training programs.
One inspiring example is their work with local Bongo women producing Fugu and exporting them to Korea. A powerful real story of connection of Ghana and Korea.

Ambassador Kojo Choi holds progressive talks in Korea.”And today, we take another important step forward, we discussed the Maternal and Child Health & Nutrition Improvement Project in Bongo”, Ambassador Choi noted.
He said,, the plan is to build and operate a dedicated center next to the Bongo District Hospital, providing essential services for pregnant women and infants”.
Construction is set to begin in the second half of this year, with completion expected in the latter half of next year. This is more than a construction project. It is a model of genuine partnership between Korea and Ghana.
”On a personal note, this moment is especially meaningful to me because this first project begins in Bongo, a place I proudly call my hometown”, he noted
Ambassador Choi said the vision however goes beyond Bongo.
”We aim to scale this model across Ghana after this successful implementation of this 1st project in Bongo.
From Bongo to the nation, may this be the beginning of a story where partnership brings life.
