In a demonstration of government’s commitment to protecting vulnerable families during times of crisis, the Gender Minister, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey has led the distribution of relief items to households affected by recent flooding in the Old Kasapreko area of the Klowekoo Naa Electoral Area in the Krowor Municipality.
The humanitarian exercise, undertaken alongside the Municipal Chief Executive, officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Assembly Members, and community leaders, brought immediate relief to families struggling to rebuild their lives after the devastating floods.

Addressing residents during the distribution, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey reaffirmed government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that no affected family is left behind.
“Floods do not only destroy homes; they disrupt livelihoods, children’s education, and the dignity of families. Our presence here today is to assure every affected household that government stands with you. Together, we will restore hope and rebuild stronger communities.”
The Minister expressed appreciation to the President for the swift intervention, noting that the timely provision of relief items reflects government’s determination to respond quickly to the needs of vulnerable communities.
“I sincerely thank His Excellency the President for ensuring that relief reaches the people of Krowor. This intervention demonstrates our shared commitment to protecting lives and supporting families during difficult times.”
Dr. Lartey also emphasized that while emergency relief remains essential, long-term solutions are equally critical to reducing the impact of recurrent flooding in vulnerable communities.
She pledged to continue collaborating with local authorities, disaster management agencies, and community leaders to strengthen resilience, improve disaster preparedness, and advocate for sustainable measures that safeguard lives, homes, and livelihoods.
Residents who received the relief expressed gratitude for the government’s intervention, describing it as timely support that would help ease the burden of recovering from the disaster.
The relief exercise underscores the Ministry’s broader mandate of protecting vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, older persons, and persons living with disabilities, who are often disproportionately affected during natural disasters.
As communities across Ghana continue to confront the growing challenges posed by extreme weather events, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches those most in need while supporting efforts to build safer and more resilient communities.
“Together, we will rebuild stronger, protect the vulnerable, and ensure that every family has the opportunity to recover with dignity and hope,” Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey concluded.
