Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster, author, entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of GDA Media Limited, Oheneyere Gifty Anti, has paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, H.E. Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson, as part of her visit to the UK.

The meeting served as an opportunity to strengthen ties with Ghana’s diplomatic mission while highlighting the enduring impact of The Standpoint, the flagship television programme that has spent the past 18 years empowering women, amplifying voices and inspiring social change across Ghana and beyond.
During the visit, Oheneyere Gifty Anti briefed the High Commissioner on the purpose of her trip, which is to commemorate the 18th anniversary of The Standpoint through a series of engagements with members of the Ghanaian community in the United Kingdom.
She also extended an invitation to H.E. Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson to attend the anniversary events scheduled to take place in Northampton on July 19 and Liverpool on August 1, where audiences are expected to celebrate nearly two decades of impactful conversations centred on leadership, family, culture, women’s empowerment and national development.
The discussions reflected a shared commitment to promoting Ghana’s image internationally and strengthening the bond between the country and its diaspora. Both women acknowledged the important role of the Ghanaian community abroad in contributing to national development through investment, advocacy, cultural promotion and knowledge exchange.
For nearly two decades, The Standpoint has become more than a television programme. It has evolved into a movement that challenges stereotypes, promotes positive values and creates opportunities for meaningful dialogue on issues affecting individuals, families and communities.
As the Mpuntuhemaa of Ekumfi Nanaben in the Central Region, Oheneyere Gifty Anti continues to combine traditional leadership with media influence, championing initiatives that promote education, women’s empowerment, youth development and cultural heritage.
