I had the honour of visiting my hometown in Korea upon the Mayor’s invitation. This visit was deeply meaningful. I was born here, but years later, I returned as Ghana’s Ambassador to Korea. Life truly comes full circle.

During my visit, I had the opportunity to meet with the leadership of Chuncheon City. We had meaningful discussions on cultural and artistic exchange, exploring ways to deepen collaboration between our communities. We also spoke about establishing a sister-city relationship and other practical avenues to strengthen ties with Ghana.

I also had the opportunity to share my story with students, speaking about dreams, resilience, and the love I have received from Ghana. It was a reminder that no matter where we start, our journey can take us far beyond what we imagine when we stay grounded in faith and truth.
On that same day, there was a military parade in Chuncheon. What amazed me was seeing armored vehicles and tanks decorated with flags in red, gold, and green, the very colours of our flag. It felt like a powerful and symbolic moment, as if a deeper connection was being revealed. It led me to think about the potential for deeper cooperation between Korea and Ghana in the area of defence and modernisation of our military.

To my dear abusua fuo both in Korea and Ghana, I want to express my deepest gratitude. You welcomed me, stood by me, and became part of who I am today.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Mayor and the team of Chuncheon City for giving me such a warm and unforgettable reception. I also express my sincere appreciation to Ambassador Kim Young-Chae, President of the Korea-Africa Foundation, for facilitating and supporting this meaningful visit.
I remain committed to building bridges between Korea and Ghana in culture, business, and for the next generation.
