Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang joined President John Dramani Mahama, in receiving the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs, led by Nana Owusu Sakyi III, President of the Bono East House of Chiefs, together with Paramount Chiefs, Queen Mothers, and traditional leaders from across the Region.



The delegation, accompanied by the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, and the Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, used the opportunity to commend Government for the progress made so far and to discuss matters of development and mutual interest affecting the Region.
The engagement provided an opportunity to review ongoing interventions and hear the concerns and aspirations of the people of Bono East. In response, President Mahama outlined measures being undertaken to strengthen the economy and reaffirmed Government’s commitment to supporting the Region’s important role in Ghana’s agriculture, trade, and commercial activities, particularly in Techiman and its surrounding communities.
Among the initiatives highlighted were plans to establish special markets in addition to the 24-hour market programme, the development of Farmer Service Centres, including one at Atebubu, the construction of a 50,000-tonne cashew factory, major road infrastructure projects across the Region, and the construction of a Regional Hospital for Bono East.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between Government and traditional authorities in advancing development, preserving peace, and improving the lives of the people of Bono East and our other regions.
