Ambassador Smith said Ghana remains one of Africa’s most open economies; a country transitioning from the dependence on raw exports to one that is centered on value addition, technology and industrialization with a highly trainable, increasingly tech literate youthful population.
He explained that California has the capital,  technology and global enterprise experience whist Ghana has the markets, strategic geography and rising talent.
Therefore, Ghana is not asking for aid but rather the chance for mutual expansion and shared prosperity.
The high level meeting with virtual presentations by the Minister for Trade Industry and Innovations as well as the Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre attracted industry leaders, private equity firms, policy makers and members of the Ghanaian Diaspora.
