Rebecca Ekpe, an Editor in Chief, at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation on Friday May 2, 2025, joined the Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Prof. Amin Alhassan on stage to receive a citation on behalf of the GBC for the Corporation’s contribution to national information dissemination and freedom of expression on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day.
The event was organized by the Ghana Journalists Association, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, to celebrate Champions of Press Freedom as part of activities to mark the 2025 World Press Freedom Day.
Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s Citation:
”As Ghana’s national broadcaster, you have remained a reliable partner in the dissemination of news and national development programming. You have consistently collaborated with the GJA to execute its public interest mandates, media awards and commemorative events. On many occasions, you have covered these programmes and activities live and offered unfettered access to the GJA in that regard. In recognition and appreciation of your enduring partnership and contribution to media development in Ghana, the GJA honours you, GHANA BROADCASTING CORPORATION, with this citation, on this day, May 2, 2025, at the commemoration of World Press Freedom Day”.
