Ghanaian actress and producer Joselyn Dumas has called for increased investment and stronger distribution channels to unlock the full potential of Ghana’s creative industry.

Joselyn Dumas said Ghana has an abundance of talented actors, producers, directors and writers, but lacks the funding needed to grow the sector.
She appealed to investors to support local creatives, noting that many producers are forced to finance projects with their own resources.
Dumas also identified limited access to global distribution platforms as a major setback, saying quality Ghanaian films often fail to reach international audiences.
She further encouraged partnerships between Ghanaian creatives, investors and international filmmakers, describing collaboration as key to building a globally competitive film industry.
The panel also highlighted the need for technical training and skills development, urging aspiring filmmakers to take advantage of online learning opportunities while industry stakeholders invest in professional training.
