Mr. Tony Elumelu has addressed the 720 UBA Graduate Trainees from Cohorts 19 & 20 of the UBA Graduate Management Acceleration Programme (GMAP) from across Africa.
Since launched of the UBA Management Trainee Programme, in 2022, the Elumelu Foundation has developed over 3900 young banking and finance professionals across Africa.

”The highlight of my interaction with them was when I discovered that 300 of these young professionals have been in the UBA ecosystem previously as contract staff and are now being converted to full-time staff of the United Bank for Africa”, he noted.
Mr. Elumelu commended Oliver Alawuba the GMD and Modupe Akindele, the HR Director for fulfilling this career ambition of the youth.
”It is self-enlightened interest to create the right environment for young Africans to thrive, this is why we invest in these young Africans through the Graduate Management Programme, it is a betrayal of a generation to not provide our young with employment, or worse, to neglect our own.
These young men and women chose UBA, showed up consistently, served our customers with dedication, upheld our culture with integrity, and remained resilient.
