Protests in US over Donald Trump’s ‘divisive policies’

Many have continued with the discussions over the tariffs slapped on countries across the globe. Yesterday, tens of thousands of protesters flooded the streets of major US cities to oppose the divisive policies of President Donald Trump, in what has been described as the largest demonstrations since his return to the White House. Opponents of the Republican President’s policies from government staffing cuts to trade tariffs and eroding civil liberties rallied in US States of Washington DC, New York, Houston, Florida, Colorado and Los Angeles, among other locations. The demonstration has garnered support even in some European countries like Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Mexico and Portugal and Berlin. Critics of the Trump administration are particularly warried that he is cutting off democratic institutions.

From Pittsburg Pennsylvania, Alan Schiemer posted on Facebook, the ”6,000 of us at the Hands-Off demonstration in Pittsburgh today”. ”
The crowd was loud and energetic. It’s hard to believe that I went to my first demonstrations in 1964”.
”Never thought that I would still be doing this in 2025”.
”I appreciate the hard work of all of the people who put this together. And I appreciate all of the people who came to the rally to make their voices heard at this critical time”.
