Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has visited the Police Barracks in Accra Central following the recent fire outbreak.
During the visit, she received updates from the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, and other officials on ongoing relief efforts. According to the briefing, 48 households were affected by the incident. While some families have found temporary refuge with relatives and friends, arrangements have been made to support those still in need of accommodation and essential assistance.

The Vice President conveyed Government’s concern and solidarity with the affected residents, noting that although no fatalities were recorded, the impact of the disaster on families and children has been significant. She assured victims that Government would continue to work with relevant agencies to provide the necessary support as they rebuild their lives.
Vice-President Opoku-Agyemang also called for a detailed assessment of the incident to determine its cause and strengthen measures aimed at preventing similar occurrences. She stressed the importance of maintaining high safety standards and enhancing emergency preparedness across communities.
She further commended the swift response of emergency services, NADMO, security agencies, and all stakeholders whose coordinated efforts helped contain the situation and provide relief to affected residents.
