Volta Region’s representative in the Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) 2026 competition, Sessinam, delivered a captivating performance last night, bringing an important aspect of Ewe cultural heritage to life.
Sessinam, an old student of OLA Senior High School, told the story of Alɔkpli, an ancestral Ewe taboo surrounding intimate relationships and the consequences of crossing certain cultural boundaries. Through her performance, she explored themes of love, tradition, secrecy and reconciliation, while highlighting the richness of Ewe heritage.
Her performance earned her two awards on the night — Best Costume and Star Performer, further cementing her presence as one of the contestants making a strong impression in this year’s competition.
The recognition has generated excitement among supporters in the Volta Region, with calls for people to rally behind Sessinam as she continues her journey towards the Ghana’s Most Beautiful crown.
