The Vice President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Rebecca Ekpe, has paid a courtesy call on the Italian Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Laura Ranalli, to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation between Ghana and Italy, with particular emphasis on media development, women’s empowerment, education and leadership.
The meeting highlighted the enduring friendship between Ghana and Italy, founded on mutual respect, shared values and a commitment to sustainable development. Discussions explored how the longstanding bilateral relationship could be expanded through strategic partnerships that create opportunities for both countries.

Speaking after the engagement, Rebecca Ekpe described the visit as a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas on issues that matter to both nations.

A key focus of the discussions was the importance of empowering women and young people through education, mentorship and leadership development. Rebecca Ekpe also shared insights into her mentorship initiatives aimed at equipping emerging journalists and content creators with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
She noted that stronger international partnerships can help promote media excellence, professional development and cross-cultural learning while supporting efforts to advance gender equality and inclusive leadership.
