The Pan-African Leadership Institute (PALI) Ghana Alumni, with generous contributions from members, has made cash donation to support members of the Cerebral Palsy Ghana in Accra.
The Group also donated a range of essential items, detergents, toiletries, adult diapers, bedsheets, and more to support the care and well-being of the patients.
Madam Theodora Senaya, Ghana Ambassador, PALI, said the donation was made when the Executives of PALI Ghana Alumni paid a courtesy visit to the Pediatric Cerebral Palsy Unit at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
She said the initial idea was to support an orphanage, but one of their executive members suggested a group that was often overlooked, mothers with children living with cerebral palsy.
She said the Executives met with the Cerebral Palsy Ghana executive team, where they shared their stories.
“Several mothers shared how they gave birth at just seven months due to preeclampsia and other complications such as lack of oxygen to the baby’s brain, factors known to cause cerebral palsy,” she said.
She said many of these women battle through each day without reliable support, watching their children struggle with immobility, pain, and isolation and yet in all of this, their resilience shone through.
Madam Senaya said the project was more than a donation, but it was a full-circle moment, from personal loss to public service.
“We at PALI Ghana are proud to carry the torch of Pan-African servant leadership. And we remain committed to supporting communities, amplifying unheard voices, and making real, lasting change,” she added.
She commended the management of PALI for the platform to lead with purpose, and to Dr Kofi Osei-Kusi, the President and Co-founder of PALI, for his exemplary leadership that continued to inspire them.
