The newly appointed Commander of the Force (FC) of the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea-Bissau (ESSMGB), Brigadier General Danjuma Ribah Dantani, made a familiarization visit to Ghana Company 4 (GHANCOY 4), located at the Presidential Palace in Bissau, on Friday, April 10, 2026.

The visit to GHANCOY 4 is part of his familiarization tour of the Mission’s units, aimed at strengthening operational command and gaining a direct understanding of the realities on the ground.
During the visit, the Combat Team Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Keelson Ekow Amoah, gave the Force Commander a briefing on the Company’s operations, logistics, and administrative organization. This was followed by a visit to the camp and an interaction session with all personnel, providing direct contact with the staff.
In his remarks, the Force Commander expressed satisfaction with the operational readiness level of GHANCOY 4 and congratulated the Combat Team Commander’s leadership for the efforts made in improving infrastructure and prioritizing the well-being of the troops. He also encouraged personnel to maintain the high operational standards achieved, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and readiness in the face of the evolving political and security context in the country.
The visit reaffirmed the Force Commander’s commitment to strengthening operational effectiveness, maintaining discipline, and ensuring the continued readiness of ESSMGB personnel in support of peace and stability in Guinea-Bissau.
