“It takes a village.” And for Fafali’s journey to 21, it truly did writes Dzigbordi in a message on Daughter’s birthday.
Raising her into the woman she’s becoming has been a collective effort—woven with love, prayer, guidance, and grace.
When her dad passed, some great brothers and friends became uncles who stepped in—becoming surrogate fathers. They prayed with her, advised her, funded school needs, and gifted her with unforgettable life experiences.
My sister’s friends became the aunties who opened their homes during the holidays, giving her warmth, belonging, and laughter.
Her adopted sisters and their husbands became guardians through the rocky roads of adolescence and high school transitions.
And to my many adopted daughters—you showed up to plan her events, help her organise her world, and pour into her with hours of meaningful conversation.
And to all of you who played a part… we see you.
On this milestone birthday, we see you. We thank you. We honour you. We love and appreciate you.
