Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone will become the AfCFTA–Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone
Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng, (MP),  MP for Gomoa, has indicated that he received a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) from the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, a functionally autonomous body of the African Union.
The purpose of this MoU is to establish a framework of cooperation between the Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone and the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement in matters of common interest as set forth in Article II, and to define the mechanisms for the implementation of such cooperation.
Article 2 of the AfCFTA Agreement formally establishes a single continental market for goods and services across Africa. Through this framework, member states commit to working together to facilitate the free movement of goods and services, promote investment across African countries, expand intra-African trade, support industrial development, and strengthen economic integration among African states.
By this agreement, the Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone will become the AfCFTA–Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone, where the AfCFTA framework will not only facilitate trade across the continent but will also support and drive industrialization within the zone.
