Ghanaian Award Winning Journalist Godwin Asedeba say it is indeed a dream come true to have the opportunity to joins BBC’s  Focus on Africa Team.  He has been granting multiple interviews to the Media in Accra after he won the BBC Komla Dumor Award in 2025.

”Am happy, but i cannot describe the way am feeling right now, But really am happy to walk the path Komla Dumor once did”, he told journalists in Accra.

Godwin Asedeba was also crowned the GJA PAV Ansah Journalist of the Year, at the 30th GJA Awards held in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

 

Godwin Asediba is a Ghanaian broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Accra. He works for Media General’s TV3 Ghana and 3FM, producing investigative reports and documentaries on social issues in Ghana and West Africa.

In 2025, he became the first Ghanaian to win the Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling from the International Center for Journalists for his documentary Ghanaian Men Promised Security Job, Sent to War in Ukraine. He also received the BBC Komla Dumor Award in 2025.

Early life and education

Asediba studied at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, where he earned a Diploma in communication studies in 2016 and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 2021.[citation needed]

Career

Asediba began his journalism career with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in 2016.[citation needed] He joined the EIB Network in 2018 as a reporter and producer and worked there until 2022.[citation needed] Since then, he has been with Media General, where he anchors news and reports for TV3 and 3FM.[citation needed] His work spans television, radio, and online platforms, and he has reported on a range of social and investigative topics.[1]
