Dr. Bawumia commiserates with victims of Adum market fire commending swift emergency response

Former Vice President, Dr Bawumia has visited victims of the Adum fire incident in Kumasi, where he pledged 200 thousand cedis and bags of cement, emphasizing on the need for patience while the cause of fire is investigated to prevent recurrences.

During his visit to the affected area on Tuesday, 25 March, Dr Bawumia observed the swift and effective response by the fire service.

He described their actions as a “yeoman’s job”, noting that their prompt intervention helped to contain the fire and prevent a further loss of property.

His commendation highlighted the importance of a well-coordinated emergency response in such critical moments.

In addition to his praise for the Ghana Fire Service, Dr Bawumia expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the affected traders.

He assured them of his continued support as they endeavored to rebuild their businesses.

The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Friday, 21st March 2025, destroyed several shops and goods worth millions of Ghana cedis, leaving many traders in distress.
