The Tourism Minister, Dzifa Gomashie, had the opportunity to visit Manhyia after almost 9 years. Otumfuor said “me huu wo akye paa.” The visit was to greet the Otumfuor and also present a copy of the certificate for the recognition of Kete/Kente as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO to him.
I have previously also presented a copy of the certificate to Togbe Afede the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli. The ministry will also be presenting copies of the certificates to the Paramount Chiefs of Agbozume and Agortime in the coming weeks.

The Tourism Minister also used the occasion to visit the overhead in Asokwa where Senior High Schools in the Ashanti Region had been given the rare opportunity by the young and super dynamic Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene.
According to her, as an art student of St. Louis Secondary School (as it was called then), she can appreciate the impact of this initiative on the students.

I was absolutely impressed by the work of the Prison Service. The vocational training being undertaken by the inmates is truly remarkable. The works of the inmates on sale blew my mind.
