The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has chaired the Second Quarter Meeting of the Ministry’s Ministerial Advisory Board (MAB), with members reviewing progress on the Ministry’s mandate and providing strategic guidance on key policy and programme priorities.
The meeting focused on assessing progress on major activities, reviewing matters arising from the Board’s previous meeting, and examining the implementation of approved policies, legislation and programmes under the Ministry.

Members also considered the Ministry’s 2026 Work Plan, identifying areas requiring sustained attention to improve implementation, strengthen stakeholder engagement and ensure that interventions remain responsive to the needs of women, children and vulnerable groups.
The Board further reviewed progress on key policy and legislative initiatives, emphasising the need to translate government policies into tangible outcomes and strengthen coordination among stakeholders.
Addressing the Board, Dr. Lartey underscored the importance of the Board’s experience and independent perspectives in shaping the Ministry’s work.
“Our collective responsibility is to ensure that policies and programmes we pursue respond meaningfully to the needs of the people we serve and contribute to the broader development priorities.”
The meeting reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to social justice, gender equality, inclusive governance and leaving no one behind, while strengthening accountability in the implementation of programmes designed to improve the lives of women, children and vulnerable populations.
