Ambassador Kojo Choi on Ghana Korea relations
Over the past months, I have had the privilege of engaging with key platforms shaping Ghana Korea relations at various levels in Korea. One of the most important is the Korea National Assembly Africa Forum, where Members of Parliament work to deepen cooperation with Africa.

In December last year, I attended the 100th Forum Anniversary Luncheon alongside distinguished Korean lawmakers and African Ambassadors. It was a meaningful moment of renewed commitment to Africa Korea partnership. I also had the opportunity to greet Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and begin building an important relationship even before formally presenting my credentials.
On February 12, I was invited as keynote speaker at the 102nd Forum. Under the theme “50 Years of Trust Between Korea and Ghana, and the Future of Cooperation,” I presented Ghana’s strengths, opportunities, and vision to influential Members of Parliament, positioning Ghana as a trusted and forward looking partner.
Exactly after 1 month, a significant affirmation came during the visit of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to Korea National Assembly on March 13. The Speaker of the Korea National Assembly mentioned that sending Ambassador Kojo Choi to Korea has greatly benefited Ghana Korea relations. Honourable Baek Sun-hee also expressed her commitment to actively support Ghana during my tenure.
These are not just personal milestones. They show that Ghana’s voice is being heard and respected at the highest levels in Korea. President Mahama’s decision is already bearing fruit. Doors are opening, trust is deepening, and Ghana’s presence is growing stronger.
Ghana has firmly planted its flag high here in Korea. I remain fully committed to this mission and I will work even harder to deliver meaningful and lasting results for Ghana and surely our good Lord will see us through.
