The Ghana Police Service has arrested social media influencer Daniel Adomako, popularly known as Sir Obama Pokuase, as part of a nationwide operation targeting the illegal possession and display of firearms.
Police say Adomako was picked up after sharing videos and photos online showing individuals wielding sophisticated weapons believed to have been unlawfully obtained. He is currently assisting investigators.
In a statement, Director of Public Affairs ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi said the operation has led to the seizure of several illegal firearms and ammunition.
Meanwhile, three others Prince Ofori, Yayra Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwakye have been arrested in separate cases involving false news publication and death threats linked to a recent helicopter crash.
The Police have urged the public to report suspicious activities via emergency numbers 122 and 18555 or through official WhatsApp lines, assuring that due process will be followed.
The suspects are expected to appear in court in the coming days.
