Abedi Pele, Asamoah Gyan CAF Schools Ambassadors

Ghanaian football legends Abedi Ayew Pele and Asamoah Gyan have been appointed as Ambassadors for the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship, set for April 21-26 at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.
Abedi Pele, a three-time African Footballer of the Year and UEFA Champions League winner, will use his experience to inspire young talents and promote grassroots football. His legacy continues to shape African football, making him a key figure in this initiative.
Asamoah Gyan, Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer, joins Pele in this role, bringing his wealth of experience to the championship. While both legends will contribute to its success, Abedi Pele’s enduring influence remains central to the tournament’s vision.
With these two icons leading the charge, the championship promises to be a game-changer for African youth football.
The CAF African Schools Football Championship is an annual African school’s association football competition launched in 2022 and organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Its main focus is to develop organised football at school level on the continent for boys and girls.
