Ghana’s Finance Minster Ato Forson has been at the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C, where he met with Anna Bjerde, Managing Director for Operations at the World Bank, to discuss Ghana’s progress and priorities.

”Despite recent global shocks, Ghana has remained resilient, supported by prudent policy decisions, buffers, and strong reforms”.
He said Ghana has increased gas production, and has also helped to cushion the impact of rising energy prices.
”We are now addressing inefficiencies in the energy distribution sector through private sector participation to improve performance”, the Minister posited.

Meanwhile, he affirmed that Anna Bjerde reaffirmed the World Bank’s support and stressed the need to resolve energy sector challenges.
