The Technical Committee of the Inter Ministerial Coordinating Committee met with representatives of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs to discuss a proposed Technical Assistance Fund to support Ghana’s decentralisation reforms. The Fund, estimated at five hundred thousand Swiss francs, will provide flexible and demand driven technical expertise, policy support, institutional strengthening and capacity building to advance the National Decentralisation Policy and Strategy. SECO reaffirmed its commitment to Ghana’s decentralisation agenda, including its ongoing financial support to the Responsiveness Factor Grant programme. The IMCC Secretariat will continue consultations with stakeholders to finalise the design and implementation of the fund.
