The Tema Metropolitan Assembly, led by Chief Executive, Ebi Bright is on campaign to rid the Tema Metropolis of filth and an authorized structures.
Even though she has incurred the displeasure of some culprits, some residents in Tema believe that the exercise is long overdue. Tema seems to have lost its original beaty as a well planned town by Ghana’s First President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Today building have sprang up without plan, over population seemed to have taken over the spaces and indiscipline is at its highest, leaving city authorities at their wits end.

Before the clean up, Madam Ebi Bright, together with some Heads of Department of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), undertook a working visit within the metropolis and charged corporate entities to take responsibility for maintaining clean and well-organized perimeters around their facilities.
The Mayor stressed that corporate institutions play a critical role in shaping the physical outlook of Tema, noting that poorly maintained surroundings contribute to sanitation challenges and urban disorder. She said keeping facility perimeters clean was not only a civic duty but also essential to promoting public safety, environmental health, and the overall image of the city.

She reminded management of corporate entities that the Assembly would not hesitate to enforce existing sanitation and development regulations where necessary. She encouraged stronger collaboration between corporate organizations and the Assembly to sustain a clean, orderly, and well-managed metropolis.
The working visits were part of the Mayor’s broader agenda to strengthen urban management, sanitation enforcement, and institutional accountability across Tema.
Tema Municipal Assembly signals of continued clean-up until the city is reset.
