The Swiss Ambassador and her team have visited the SANKOFA project on Dynamic Agroforestry (DAF) in the cocoa sector.
Supported by Switzerland, the project promotes climate-smart cocoa farming by integrating fruits, vegetables, timber, and other trees to improve farmersโ€™ incomes and resilience.
The team discussed with farmers, members of the Village Savings and Loan Association, and youth trainees under the project who are exploring new agribusiness services under DAF. Lucy, a cocoa farmer, shared her inspiring journey of transforming her low-yield farm into a diverse, productive, climate-smart business that now helps support her daughterโ€™s education abroad.
Partnerships like these are building a more sustainable and resilient cocoa sector.
Project partners include, the Swiss Platform for Sustainable Cocoa, the Field Coordinator, Gottfried Baidoo and Fairtrade Africa for the excellent organization of the visit.
