On Wednesday, 10th September 2025, President Mahama engaged Journalists to a Presidential Media Encounter at the Presidency. I got invited but couldn’t get to ask my question. The journalists were many and priority was given to the GJA President of the 3 slots the GJA got to the event.

Well, below is one of the questions for President John Mahama. My Question is on Cybersecurity (Fraud)

Mr. President,

Latest figures from the Cyber Security Authority show that Ghana’s economy lost an estimated 14.9 million cedis to cybercrime in the first half of this year. According to the CSA, total financial losses in 2024 amounted to 23.3 million cedis, with the mid-year figure for 2025 already reflecting a 17 percent year-on-year increase. Manay Ghanaians have become victims, especially to mono fraud.

Mr. President, I would like to know if this has come to your attention and understand the government commitment to combating the growing menace of cybercrime in Ghana.
