President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized the need to complete all remaining works that would enable the University of Ghana Medical Centre to operate fully and efficiently to achieve the vision late President Atta Mills had for setting up of the facility.
He said if this had been done there would not have been the need to refer critical emergency situations abroad for further diagnosis and treatment.
President Mahama said this when he welcomed the Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang at the airport. He was accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, the Vice President’s Chief of Staff, Alex Segbefia and other senior government officials.
President Mahama briefed Prof Opoku Agyemang on current developments, including fulfillment of the 120 days Social Contract with Ghanaians. He acknowledged the tremendous work the Vice President was doing until she fell ill and had to be flown abroad for medical treatment.
