President Mahama seeks commitment of service from newly sworn-in Ghana Armed Forces Council

President John Dramani Mahama has charged members of the newly sworn-in Ghana Armed Forces Council to execute their duties with wisdom, integrity and an unwavering commitment to national service.

He underscored the crucial role the council plays in maintaining Ghana’s stability, strengthening national security, and ensuring that the Ghana Armed Forces operates at the highest level of professionalism.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the Council at the Ministry of Defence in Accra, President Mahama emphasized the need for ethical conduct and transparency in the Military, warning against corruption and abuse of power.

The President noted that in an era of evolving security challenges, the Armed Forces Council must be vigilant and forward-thinking in its approach to national defence.

The Chairperson of the GAF Council and Vice President, Prof Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, pledged to work diligently to justify the confidence President Mahama has reposed in members of the Council.

Other members of the Council are the Minister of Defence, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister of the Interior, Mubarak Mohanned Muntaka.

The rests are, Daniel Addo, Fuseini Iddrisu and Nancy Dakwa Ampofo.
