A thanksgiving service in honour of the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, has been held at Christ the King Catholic Parish, in Accra. The solemn service was attended by high-ranking personalities, including President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady Lordina Mahama, Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Delivering a homily, the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Ebenezer Akesseh, said that suffering does not always mean one has done something wrong. He urged the country not to be discouraged from doing what is right, stressing that, there is the need for strength and perseverance in the midst of adversity.
Meanwhile, the families extended heartfelt appreciation to President John Mahama, the government and Ghanaians in general for their prayers and support. A family member of the late Wing Commander Peter Anala thanked the government for the posthumous promotion.
Prayers were said for the souls of the departed and their families.
