President John Dramani Mahama delivered the keynote address at the 79th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to building a resilient, people-centred and self-sustaining healthcare system.

The President emphasised the need for bold reforms, African health sovereignty, expanded healthcare access and strategic investment in public health infrastructure, while calling for practical global action beyond declarations and rhetoric.
“We do not come to Geneva to mourn the past. We come to build a future where a country’s health is not a byproduct of charity, but a result of sovereign capability.” – President Mahama.
