The Presidency has hosted an Iftar at the Flagstaff House.
Vice President, Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang joined members of the Muslim community in a moment of reflection during this sacred month of Ramadan.
The event was also graced by the presence of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, whose wisdom and leadership continue to inspire peace and cohesion in our nation.
This gathering reaffirmed our national commitment to harmony, unity, and inclusive governance.
”As we observe this period of prayer, sacrifice, and charity, may we continue to uphold the values of compassion, solidarity, and service to humanity”, the Vice President reiterated.
Iftar is the fast-breaking evening meal for Muslims during Ramadan, occurring at the time of the Maghrib prayer.
It marks the end of the daily fast, which begins with the pre-dawn meal called suhoor.
Iftar is significant as it brings together the community, emphasizes generosity, and is often celebrated with family and friends. Muslims typically break their fast with dates and water, followed by a larger meal.
