The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on its members nationwide to actively participate in the government’s planned General Cleaning Exercise scheduled for Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11.

In a statement issued in Accra, the Party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said the directive reflects the NPP’s commitment to promoting environmental sanitation, civic responsibility, and national development.

The Party urged its members at all levels, including constituency executives, polling station officers, and supporters, to join communities across the country in the clean-up exercise as part of efforts to improve sanitation and create a cleaner environment.

The NPP noted that maintaining a clean environment requires collective action and encouraged members to demonstrate leadership by actively participating in sanitation activities within their respective communities.

However, the Party acknowledged that its Constituency Elections are also scheduled for Saturday, July 11, coinciding with the second day of the national clean-up exercise.

To ensure members can take part in both activities, the Party explained that voting for the constituency elections would be conducted on a walk-in basis, allowing members to cast their ballots before joining the sanitation exercise.

The statement therefore encouraged all eligible party members to first exercise their voting rights and subsequently participate in the cleaning exercise.

The NPP said the arrangement is aimed at ensuring that the party’s internal democratic processes proceed smoothly while also supporting a national initiative geared towards improving sanitation and promoting civic consciousness.

The Party further called on its members to use the opportunity to contribute positively to their communities and uphold the values of responsibility, service, and national development.
