In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2026, the National Peace Council, Ghana engaged young girls of Mount Zion Basic School today, under the theme “Raising Young Peacebuilders: Her Voice, Her Power.”
The engagement, held in Nima, sought to inspire and empower the girls to recognize their voices as powerful tools for promoting peace, respect, and positive change in their schools and communities. Through interactive discussions, the girls were encouraged to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and embrace their responsibility as future ambassadors of peace.

Participants were reminded that their voices matter and that speaking up for justice, tolerance, and understanding contributes significantly to sustainable peace.
The activity forms part of the National Peace Council’s ongoing commitment to nurturing a new generation of peacebuilders by equipping young girls with the knowledge, courage, and motivation to lead and contribute meaningfully to peace and national development.
As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, the Council reaffirmed its dedication to promoting platforms that empower girls and women to actively participate in peacebuilding processes and community development.
