At the end of the three-day multistakeholder Regional Conference, the Model Policy Framework for Information Integrity in West Africa and the Sahel was endorsed. This regional initiative paves the way for building trust, strengthening social cohesion and advancing resilient digital ecosystems across the region.
This achievement reflects the collective commitment of governments, regulators, civil society, academia, media, youth and women’s organizations, together with international partners, to ensure information integrity as a foundation for stability, peacebuilding and sustainable development in West Africa and the Sahel. As a follow up, the conference presented the Praia Action Plan for Information Integrity in West Africa and the Sahel (2026-2036), which will aim to operationalize the Model Policy Framework in the region through a multistakeholder approach.
