Angela List — CEO of Nguvu Mining and Adamus Resources.
From rescuing a small family drilling company in 1991 to building and leading Nguvu Mining, she now pulls over 100,000 ounces of gold a year across Ghana, Mali and Niger and still keeps expanding.
Angela List came of age with an education rooted in strong foundations. She earned a BSc in Administration from the University of Ghana, then went on to study at University of Manchester, where she completed graduate studies, and later bolstered her credentials with an Executive MBA and advanced executive training at Harvard Business School.
Angela’s first major leadership role came as Executive Director at BCM Ghana Limited and its international counterpart, BCM International. Under her guidance, what began as a small mining-services firm expanded its operations across multiple countries and continents. But Angela wasn’t satisfied with services alone. In 2016 she pivoted from contract mining to owning and operating mines. She founded Nguvu Mining Limited, a group with footprint across West Africa, including subsidiaries like Adamus Resources Limited, Northern Ashanti Mines, Segala Mining Corporation and others.
Today, Nguvu Mining produces substantial quantities of gold annually  around 150,000 ounces according to recent reports, with projected increases once all operations are fully underway.
Angela’s success has not gone unnoticed. In 2023/2024 she was awarded “Female CEO of the Year in Mining,” recognising her leadership and impact in a male-dominated industry.
In 2025, she became the first Ghanaian to receive the prestigious Global Power Female Award — a global honour showcasing her as a trailblazer redefining leadership, industry standards, and community impact.
