From November 18th to 21st, 2025, ECOWAS, through its Gender Development Center, organized a national workshop for judicial, health, and social actors in Liberia at the Boulevard Palace Hotel in Monrovia. Conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Welfare, this training is part of the implementation of regional instruments for the prevention of and response to GBV and sexual harassment.
The workshop, opened by Deputy Minister of Gender Laura Golakeh, brought together key ministries, civil society organizations, and community leaders. Over four days, participants were trained in GBV case management tools, sexual harassment response procedures, and mechanisms for collecting and protecting survivor data. The workshop culminated in the development of a national roadmap and a final communiqué calling for increased mobilization and zero tolerance for GBV and sexual harassment.
