The priority theme for CSW70 is “ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, including by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws, policies and practices and addressing structural barriers.”
The session brings together Member States, UN agencies, and Civil Society Organizations to review progress, address emerging challenges and advance global commitments toward gender equality.
Ghana’s delegation comprises technical officials from relevant Ministries, Members of Parliament, representatives from the Office of the President, academia, as well as representatives from Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working in the areas of gender equality and social protection.
As part of her participation, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey will deliver three official statements on behalf of Ghana during the Opening Dialogue Segment, a Ministerial Roundtable Discussion and a High-Level Meeting. She will also participate in relevant side events as well as bilateral discussions.
These engagements will provide an opportunity to highlight Ghana’s progress, share national experiences and reaffirm the country’s commitment to advancing the rights and empowerment of women and girls.
Ghana’s participation at CSW70 reflects the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening gender equality, protecting the rights of women and children and enhancing social protection systems to support the vulnerable.
