Ghana UAE relations soar

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has honored a special invitation from the government of the United Arab Emirates.
Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa said he paid a two day official visit to UAE , where he described as, ”their incredibly beautiful and inspiring country”.
He was warmly received by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of UAE who also serves as Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Ablakwa also held what he described as ”constructive meetings with my good brother, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan”,
Minister of State, my dear sister Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs, the ministers of Foreign Trade, Investment, and captains of industry.
A significant outcome was the signing of an agreement to commence the first ever high-level political consultations in the strategic interest of both countries.
Following the visit, Ghana secured commitments from UAE companies who will be arriving in Ghana over the next few weeks to invest in sectors such as renewable energy, AI, education, health, aviation and defense.
According to Mr. Ablakwa, this is in line with President Mahama’s declaration that Ghana is open for business again.
”We also discussed two priority areas of President Mahama’s government being labour export for Ghanaian youth to UAE and technical support for a new national airline”, the Foreign Affairs Minister stated.
Furthermore, ”Massive job openings in UAE will soon be announced for the Ghanaian youth when we finalize our CEPA negotiations shortly” the Minister said.
Both sides, ( Ghana and UAE), confirmed that the bilateral engagements have not only been exceptionally successful but historic.
Mr. Ablakwa expressed gratitude to diplomats at the Foreign Ministry and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament for the collective accomplishments.
