As part of efforts to deepen conversations on Ghana’s broader gender initiatives, the Minister invited Ghanaian participants and other stakeholders attending the conference to interact and share ideas on advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
The engagement, which brought together youth groups, women, and men from various civil society organisations (CSOs) and gender advocacy groups from Ghana and the diaspora, aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Ministry and stakeholders participating in the conference, while also deepening global partnerships and collective efforts to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
The Ministers’ call for collaboration began with a meeting with a group of young women drawn from local and international civil society and advocacy groups. Discussions centred on critical issues affecting girls and women, including body shaming and sexualisation online, digital violence, and strengthening justice mechanisms for victims of gender-based violence.
Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey also used the opportunity to share key policy interventions and programmes being implemented by the Ministry to protect women and girls and promote inclusive development, ensuring that no one is left behind.

She noted that the engagement was intended to create a network of Ghanaian stakeholders that can continue to collaborate with the Ministry beyond the conference.
The meeting provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas, share ongoing initiatives, and explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing Ghana’s gender agenda. Participants commended the Minister for her leadership and welcomed the initiative to engage stakeholders at the conference, describing it as a strategic and inclusive platform for strengthened collaboration.
The Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment under the Rest Agenda of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, to strengthen the gender sector and ensure that Ghana’s participation in international platforms translates into meaningful outcomes for women and girls. She further encouraged participants to actively engage in the conference proceedings and serve as ambassadors for Ghana’s gender agenda.
The Minister will continue to engage stakeholders throughout the conference as part of her broader initiative to deepen partnerships and advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.
