Forum for African Women Educationalists, FAWE call on Vice President Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman, on March 11, 2025, received a delegation from the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) in her office. The delegation was led by Prof. Esi Sutherland-Addy and included executive members from Ghana and Senegal. They visited to extend their congratulations on our election and to offer their best wishes for our tenure.
The Vice- President thanked them for their visit and kind words.
She said FAWE’s unwavering support and encouragement during the campaign meant a lot.
”Having an intercontinental organization behind me was not only inspiring but also a testament to the importance of collaboration to the championing girls’ education”, she noted.
The delegation also extended an invitation to the Mastercard Foundation Phase II Bursary Support Programme. Additionally, they highlighted some challenges faced by FAWE and sought insight on how best to address them.
Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang assured them of her commitment to working with them to mitigate their challenges, ”not only because I am a former FAWE Africa Board Chairperson and longstanding member, but also because I believe in the power of education”, she asserted.
She looked forward to a continued collaboration to drive impactful policies and initiatives that empower young women across Africa through education and leadership.
