Dr Omar Touray receives letters of credence from ICRC in Nigeria

Ms Doris El Doueihy, Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Nigeria, presented her letter of accreditation on Friday 12 December 2025 to the President of Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), H.E. Dr Omar Alieu Touray, at the ECOWAS’ headquarters in Abuja.
Following the presentation, H.E. Dr Omar Alieu Touray held talks with Ms Doris El Doueihy and, during their discussions, emphasised existing and potential areas of cooperation with the ICRC in line with ECOWAS’ strategic objectives. He also reaffirmed ECOWAS’ commitment to strengthening its partnerships and intensifying its collaborative efforts to promote shared prosperity and sustainable development throughout the region.
