As Ambassador Tom Nørring concludes his tour of duty in Ghana, it was a great honour to pay a farewell courtesy call on H.E. President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House. Present also was Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa.
During the meeting, Ambassador Nørring expressed appreciation for the strong and fruitful collaboration between Denmark and Ghana over the years. Discussions reflected on the significant achievements made together in the areas of peace and security, green growth and commercial relations, good governance and human rights as well as strategic cooperation and capacity building in the maritime, statistics, urban water and meteorology and climate sectors — key pillars of the Denmark–Ghana partnership.
The dialogue also touched upon critical challenges such as the state of the economy and the erosion of public trust in government institutions — concerns that are increasingly shaped by issues of corruption and the mismanagement of public funds.
President Mahama conveyed warm wishes and thanked Ambassador Nørring for his commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
The Embassy extends its deepest gratitude to the Government and people of Ghana for the excellent cooperation during Ambassador Nørring’s tenure.
We look forward to continued collaboration in the spirit of mutual respect and shared goals.
