A 14-year-old Male Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidate, Awudu Gariba, tragically passed away today June 13, 2025, when he was rushed to Assin Fosu Polyclinic during the first paper at the Adiembra Examination Centre in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
GBC News Correspondent, Kingsley Nana Boadu noted that reports collected from the ground indicated that the student was unwell and sent to the hospital but could not receive treatment because the GRNMA were on strike. The said pupil was given some medication at a pharmacy, but the situation did not improve which later resulted in death.
