A potable water facility has been inaugurated for Assin Nyabriem community in the Assin South District of the Central region, bringing joy to the chiefs and people of the area.
The project was a donation from Mr Alex Yaw Baako, a philanthropist and Chief Executive of Nabroso Group of companies.
The provision of the water facility was in response to an appeal made to Mr Baako, who is also the assembly member for the Prestea Himan Electoral area in the western region, by the chiefs and people of the community.
The provision of the facility would end the age-long water problem facing the people in the community.
Mr Baako, speaking at the handing over ceremony, assured the residents of his continued commitment to spearheading development projects that would uplift the lives of the people.
He called on the community to cultivate a strong culture of maintenance to ensure the project’s sustainability.
“Water is life-not a luxury,” he emphasized, noting that, access to clean water was fundamental to health, education, and economic progress.
Nana Opoku Apemanim, chief of the community, in an address read for him, expressed deep appreciation to Mr Baako for the gesture and said it would help improve health and sanitation in the community.
Mr Thomas Ayensu, assembly member for the area, pledged to ensure that the project was maintained at all times.
