Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has participated in the President’s Independence Day Awards for school children, held under the theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope.”
The ceremony recognized 52 outstanding students from all 16 regions, drawn from public and private schools and including students with visual and hearing impairments. Their dedication, discipline, and perseverance represent the values that Ghana’s education system seeks to uphold.

While prosperity is supported by sound policies and infrastructure, it is equally built on the character, discipline, and responsibility of citizens, particularly the youth. I therefore encouraged the award recipients to remain focused, uphold integrity, respect authority, and serve as role models for their peers.
She commended the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service for their continued commitment to nurturing academic excellence, and thanked our partners, particularly Nestlé Ghana Limited, for their longstanding support.
Government remains firmly committed to strengthening inclusive and quality education that equips Ghanaian children with the knowledge, skills, and values required to succeed.
The Ghana we seek to build will be shaped by young citizens who combine excellence with integrity and leadership. I am confident that our future remains in capable hands, the Vice President noted.
