The Ghana Health Service, in partnership with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), convened the Ghana Global Health Security Partners Meeting in Accra, highlighting strong U.S.–Ghana collaboration in protecting public health.
Through the CDC’s leadership and technical expertise, the United States continues to support Ghana’s efforts to strengthen disease surveillance, laboratory systems, emergency preparedness, and coordinated outbreak response. Speaking at the meeting, CDC Country Director Dr. Danielle Barradas reaffirmed the CDC’s commitment to working alongside Ghanaian institutions to identify priorities, close gaps, and align partner support around nationally led, evidence-based health security plans.
The discussions underscored the shared U.S.–Ghana commitment to sustainable, locally owned health systems that safeguard lives in Ghana and contribute to global health security.
