Ghana seeks more strategic partnership with Qatar in Labour export

Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has held a meeting with Her Excellency Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al Thani, Undersecretary of the Qatar Ministry of Labour.
This meeting is described as timely as, Ghana seeks more strategic partners under its Labour Export Programme.
Mr. Ablakwa said  he is ”delighted that Qatar has expressed interest in immediately recruiting Ghanaian professionals in the health, tourism, IT, transport and logistics sectors”.
Ghana and Qatar are also set to formalize our labour cooperation. Qatar has already ratified our labour cooperation agreement with the Ghanaian Parliament expected to ratify in the next few weeks.

Ghana has additionally requested that Qatar establishes its West African Qatar Visa Centre for labour mobility in Ghana.
Qatar has commended Ghanaian workers for their impressive work ethic and high standards as confirmed by many Qatari CEOs.
According to the Foreign Affairs Minister, the Mahama administration will keep creating opportunities for the Ghanaian youth , at home and abroad through ”smart and pragmatic policies”.
